CFA’s School of Theatre presents The Exonerated by Jessica Blank and Erik Jensen, a drama that tells the real-life story of six wrongfully convicted inmates who were sentenced to Death Row and served from 2 to 22 years for crimes they didn’t commit. Based on first-person narratives, letters, and legal records, the award-winning play portrays America’s criminal justice system as deeply flawed. With over 2 million people currently incarcerated in the United States, this country has the highest rate of incarceration in the world. Knowing that theatre can be a dynamic force for change, #myCFA students set out to tell the true stories of 6 individuals who were wrongly convicted within the U.S. justice system through Boston University CFA School of Theatre's production of THE EXONERATED.
